The Dali Ancient Town is among the most visited attractions in China. Carry a culture as old as 4000 years, the area was initially inhabited by the Bai people. The ancient town was laid out on the north-south and the east-west axis. There are four main gates to the ancient town each from one direction. The main roads to walk around the ancient town are the Renmin Street and the Foreigner Street. These are the most visited roads and run in the east-west direction.
There are several tea stalls and cafes all around the Dali Ancient Town where visitors can sit back and relax. There are several ancient structures including pagodas, Bai folk homes and several other historic structures that are worth seeing. The Wuhua Tower in the center of the Dali Ancient Town is the main landmark of the city.
The Foreigners Street has several shops where visitors can find shops selling different knick-knacks and visit the different workshops.

Nearby Airports

The nearest airport to the Dali Ancient Town is the Dali Airport. It is located about 45 minutes from the Dali Ancient Town. There are no buses available from the airport, but taxis can easily be availed from outside the airport. Taxis usually cost around 750 CNY including the 70 CNY airport tax. Flights are available from all the major cities of the country to Dali.
