Hyderabad is a huge city and the capital of Andhra Pradesh, India. The city is positioned on the Deccan Plateau and is located along the Musi River. In the heart of the city is the HussainSagar Lake. The adjoining twin city of Secunderabadis also a part of the Hyderabad metropolitan area. Hyderabad has a vast Muslim population and hence finding halal facilities in the city is never a problem.Hyderabad is a city opulent in history and culture and has rapidly become a prime IT hub. Today the city competes with Chennai and Bangalore to get the title of the IT capital of India.

Hyderabad is known by many names like the City of Nawabs, City of Pearls and the Biryani City. The Old City of Hyderabad is located on the southern banks of the Musi River. Several historical attractions are located in this historic area, including the famous Charminar. On the north-eastern side of the Hussain Sagar Lake lies the twin city of Secunderabad, which boasts green spaces and wonderful halal restaurants. The new city of Hyderabad is located on the northern bank of Musi River and to the south-east of the Hussain Sagar Lake.

There are several museums in Hyderabad that make a great place to learn about the history and culture of the area. Some good museums include the Archival Museum, B.M. Birla Planetarium and Science & Technological Museum, AP State Museum, Salar Jung Museum, etc. The Hussain Sagar Lake is a major landmark in the city and comes to life as the day passes. The city also showcases a wonderful range of parks and open spaces where visitors can relax and have fun.

Coming to Hyderabad and not shopping will be one of the biggest mistakes a visitor makes. The city is known for its pearl jewelry, bangles, accessories and beautiful fabrics. From bustling markets to high-end shopping malls there are numerous shopping opportunities in the city. The best places to shop in Hyderabad include Laad Bazaar, General Bazaar, Mozzam Jahi Market, etc.

Nearby Airports

Hyderabad is served by the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The airport is located about 22 Km from the city center and is connected by buses and taxis. Buses leave the airport every 30 minutes starting at 3:30 AM till 11 PM. Metered taxis are also available from the airport to different parts of the city. Taxis are available at a starting fare of INR 40 for first 2Km and then INR 18 per Km. Car rentals are also available at the airport.
