Luxor is a beautiful city known for its historic attractions and beautiful surroundings. The Luxor Temple is located in the heart of the town and was constructed during the era of the New Kingdom Pharaoh Amenophis III. The temple has been preserved beautifully and is an excellent site to visit. Towards the north of the city are the spectacular temples of Karnak. The temple was built almost 1500 years ago and was one of the most important places in the world.
On the West Bank visitors can see the ruins of the ancient capital of Egypt Thebes. On the East Bank there are some good museums like the Luxor Museum and the Mummification Museum. These museums preserve the ancient history of the area. The Valley of Kings and the Valley of Queens are other important destinations for visitors to see. A felucca cruise on the Nile is a recommended activity. Visitors can also take a horse, camel or donkey ride along the West Bank of Nile.
Luxor offers a good shopping scene. There are two main markets where visitors can shop. There is an air-conditioned market in a hall that connects two streets. An older market is located along the streets of the Luxor Temple. Visitors can buy some traditional items and souvenirs in these markets.

Luxor is served by the Luxor International Airport. From the airport visitors can take a taxi which ideally costs 50EGP. Visitors can also request the hotel to arrange for a shuttle from the airport.
