Located in the heart of Italy is the capital and beautiful city of Rome. The number one destination on every travellers list, Rome offers something for everyone. The city offers good public transportation facilities. There are numerous attractions across Rome that travellers will love to visit. Throughout the city there are numerous piazzas (squares) and beautiful fountains.

The main attractions of the city remain the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Even though the attractions are in ruins, the grandeur of ancient Rome can still be seen. The city also features various museums housing the work of famous artists and some featuring the history of the region. The Villa Borghese has an excellent collection of art museums. The National Museum at the Baths of Diocletian and the Musical Instrument Museum are also excellent to visit.

Rome also offers a great shopping experience. The Via Condotti is the most fashionable destination where visitors can find a range of things to shop. The streets around Piazza del Popolo also offer some good shopping options. Cinecitta Due is also good for shopping.

Nearby Airports

There are two international airports that serve Rome namely the Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International Airport and the Ciampino International Airport. The Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International Airport is the main airport. There is a train that connects the airport to the city and leaves every 30 minutes. The train ride costs around 15 Euros. Buses are also available from the airport and a one-way ticket costs 6 Euros. Taxis usually charged 48 Euros for a ride to the city center.

From the Ciampino International Airport buses are available to the city and a one-way ticket ideally charges 1.5 Euros. Taxis are also available from the Ciampino International Airport to the city.
