Placed in central Norway, Trondheim is an old city in the country. The city is home to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and was the original capital of Norway. The city still preserves the culture and heritage and a lot can be seen around the city center. The area of Nidelva is the true gem of Trondheim from where visitors can enjoy spectacular views. Trondheim is one of the most important cities in Norway. The city has a rich cultural scene and hosts a number of festivals and events all around the year. The Kristiansten Fortress overlooks the city and the Nidarosdomen Cathedral is the main attraction in the city. Visitors can have a look at the wooden harbor buildings around Fjordgata,Kjøpmannsgataand Sandgata. Visitors can get the best views of the wooden buildings from the Old Town Bridge.

Trondheim is served by the Trondheim Airport Værnes. Regular buses are available from the airport to downtown Trondheim. A one-way trip by bus can cost from 120 NOK to 130 NOK depending on the type of bus. A train service is also available every hour from the airport to the Trondheim Central Station. The journey by train takes about 35-40 min and a one-way ticket costs around 71 NOK when bought at the ticket machine at the station.
