Day 1 in the Philippines with Faiz - Manila

The past few weeks have been quite hectic for me but the thought of going to the Philippines got me so pumped up! The whole journey started last night (29 May). My best friend and I flew to Singapore to meet with the rest of the team.

There was a bit of problem at the transit counter but the representative of HalalTrip, Raudha, got it settled very swiftly. It was at 1:35 am, we finally departed from Changi Airport to Manila. The flight took about four hours and we slept throughout the whole journey.

Upon arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila, we were greeted by Mr. Joe from Intas Destinations. He took us to the hotel, Dusit Thani Manila and along the way, he managed to give us a brief description of Manila. We checked in and took a quick nap.

At 11:30 am, we were gathered and had a quick lunch. Not only the food was awesome, we also had the privilege to tour the Halal kitchen, led by the chef.

After lunch, we were taken for a trip to Fort Santiago which is part of the infamous Intramurous. It was a very sunny day but being able to ponder on the beauty of its architecture of made it all worth while. We also visited Rizal Shrine and were enlighten by his story.

As Asar was approaching, we went to the Golden Mosque to perform our solat before heading back to Dusit Thani for a shopping session.

We were given two hours to shop before heading to Makati Shangri-La for dinner. It was there when I had probably had eaten the best steak ever, prepared by a fellow Malaysian chef. He even pack the leftovers for me.

Tomorrow, we will be heading to Bohol and I can not wait to see what is waiting for us there!
