Sarajevo
8 Days 7 Nights

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. Its countryside is home to medieval villages, rivers and lakes, plus the craggy Dinaric Alps. National capital Sarajevo has a well preserved old quarter, Baš?aršija, with landmarks like 16th-century Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque. Ottoman-era Latin Bridge is the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which ignited World War I.

Day 3 : Day 3: Sarajevo - Srebrenica/Zvornik - Sarajevo

Discover the painful history of the local people. The Srebrenica massacre, also
known as the Srebrenica genocide, was the genocidal killing, in July 1995, of more
than 8,000 Muslim Bosniaks, mainly men and boys, in and around the town of
Srebrenica during the Bosnian War. Today city is the symbol of sorrow and injustice
around the world. The Zvornik massacre refers to acts of mass murder and violence
committed against Bosniaks and other non-Serb civilians in Zvornik by Serb
paramilitary groups at the beginning of the Bosnian War in 1992. Estimates show
that 40,000 Bosniaks were expelled from the Zvornik district. It was the second city
in Bosnia and Herzegovina that was forcefully taken over by Serb forces during the
Bosnian War. Lunch during the excursion. Return in Sarajevo.

Day 2 : Day 2: Sarajevo - Old Town - Sarajevo

Walk through the Old Town with its bustling markets/bazaars, architecture and
friendly people. One of the things that you will visit is Gazi Husrev-begova
Mosque – the most important Islamic building in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of
the oldest mosques in this part of Europe. We will organize visit to a War museum,
where you will get acquainted with a turbulent history of the country, from the start of
the First World War on. Also you will visit old Ottoman castle dating from 15 th century
overlooking the city. From there we will have a dinner with a city lights slowly
showing true Sarajevo beauty beneath us.

Day 4 : Day 4: Sarajevo - Bijambare caves - Sarajevo

In the morning, we will visit spring of river Bosnia, great relaxing and comforting
place. We will go on horse ride through the alley too.

Our main visit of the day are Bijambare Caves – a speleological complex surrounded
by thick conifer forest, two brooks, small lakes, several springs and a great variety of
mushrooms, medicinal herbs and some rare endemic species. The most popular
cave is Srednja Bijambarska pecina or the Middle Bijambare Cave. It is over 400 m
long with a passageway which branches into four chambers ornamented with
stalactites hanging from the cave roof extending into spectacular curtains and
stalagmites which form the cave floor. In the evening hours, we drive back home.

Day 5 : Day 5: Sarajevo - Mostar - Sarajevo

After the breakfast departure to full day excursion to Mostar - historical, political,
scientific and cultural center of Herzegovina that lies at the foot of the slopes of
Velez Mountain, in the Neretva River valley. On our way to Mostar we will also visit
city of Konjic. Mostar is a city rich in mosques, to be found in each district, which
represent well the typical Ottoman style. Small but elegant, both from an
architectural and a cultural point of view in a wider sense, these are buildings that
are well worth visiting not only for the beauty of their interiors but also for tangible evidence of the life and culture of the Ottoman period in Bosnia Herzegovina. One of the most famous sights is the Old Bridge built in 16 th century by the Ottoman Empire with an interesting history to it.

Also, we will visit nearby city Blagaj, where there is a well of river Buna with an old
Dervish house, one of the oldest Islamic buildings in Bosnia. Lunch in restaurant in
Blagaj after which we return to Sarajevo.

Day 6 : Day 6: Sarajevo - Tuzla - Sarajevo

Our goal today is Tuzla. We are going to visit the square at the center of the old
town. This is the site of the Tuzla Massacre, where 72 young people were killed in
1995. Then walk over to the park where the 72 young people are buried. We are also
going to visit the Pannonica Lakes, whose water is directly supplied from the local
wells of salt water. Tuzla’s salt has been exploited for centuries. Lunch in restaurant.
Return to Sarajevo.

Day 7 : Day 7: Sarajevo - Jajce and Travnik - Sarajevo

On our seventh day, we will visit two cities in central Bosnia, Jajce and Travnik. In
Jajce we will visit lakes and waterfalls and enjoy in our coffee or tea. The waterfalls
here are one of the most impressive sights in Bosnia: In Jajce there is a mosque built
entirely out of wood. It is a one of a kind experience.

In Travnik there are several sites to visit including old square, tower and “Blue
Waters”. One of the most famous sights in Travnik is the blue mosque or the
