The best of South Africa’s beautiful coastline starts with the exploration of the appropriately named Garden Route and takes you along a truly heavenly part of South Africa for a truly memorable experience. Arriving in Port Elizabeth, you would be transported from along the start of the Garden Route at Storms River and the ancient indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest, a world of giant trees, forest ferns, clear streams and brightly coloured birds. Via a unique and fun canopy tour, you will experience all the beauty and splendour that this forest has to offer. To ensure your adrenalin really gets worked up, we will visit the Bloukrans Bridge where you have the opportunity to try the world’s highest commercial bungee jump at 216m!
Step into a different world in Plettenberg Bay when you enjoy a 2-hour adventure into the river ziplining, jumping and splashing your way to experience nature at its best. A more relaxed afternoon awaits as you visit the gentle giants at the Elephant Park for an informative guided and interactive tour. Set off on an eco-adventure as you enjoy a ferry on the Knysna lagoon followed by a 4x4 drive up to the reserve where you enjoy spectacular views. There is an optional walk through a coastal forest into ancient seacaves with gorgeous views. All this rounded off with a yummy buffet lunch. Departing Knysna, you explore the Garden Route as you visit a master coffee roaster in Wilderness for a unique coffee tasting experience. You would venture into South Africa’s ostrich capital in Oudtshoorn which would necessitate an opportunity to learn about and interact with these big birds at the ostrich farm. A visit to the wildlife ranch will allow for close encounters with big cats and reptiles in a truly memorable experience. You make your way to Cape Town along a scenic route and possibly spot some whales between June and November!
Arriving in South Africa’s Mother City, you will visit places of sheer amazement and beauty. You will be walked through the richness of the local Muslim community in Bo Kaap and District Six and visit the first masjid built in South Africa over 200 years ago. A spectacular shoreline journey of the Cape Peninsula will take you to Cape Point, the very tip of the continent of Africa as well as scenic towns of Hout Bay and Simonstown. Drive along one of the most spectacular mountain edge routes in the world at Chapman’s Peak. Visit the penguin nature reserve and see these delightful creatures in their natural habitat. A tour of this majestic city is incomplete without scaling the heights of the iconic landmark, Table Mountain. Soak in the vibe and atmosphere at the V&A Waterfront and enjoy relaxation time at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens. South Africa’s Coastline awaits you…in all it’s Splendour!
Day 1 : Port Elizabeth and Tsitsikamma
Head to Port Elizabeth and depart for the Garden Route to Tsitsikamma Forest on a canopy tour or enjoy the Tsitsikamma National Park.
Day 2 : Adventure in Knysna
Canoe along Knysna and go to the Elephant Park for a guided and interactive tour. Lastly, enjoy your time at the Knysna Waterfront.
Day 3 : Explore Knysna
Enjoy a 3-hour Knysna Featherbed Nature Reserve eco-experience (ferry, 4x4 drive and short hike), buffet, and a coffee tasting experience from a coffee master.
Day 4 : Oudtshoorn Wilderness
Become entranced with flora and fauna throughout the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, Cango Wildlife Ranch, and Cango Ostrich Farm.
Day 5 : Scenic Drive
Drive through scenic South Africa through Mossel Bay and Hermanus (best whale watching in the world) with various stops.
Day 6 : Kirstenbosch and the V&A Waterfront
Have look around Cape Town, visitng the Kirstenbosch Gardens and relaxing at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.
Day 7 : Table Mountain, Cape Heritage and Islamic Tour
Ride a cable car at Table Mountain and get to learn about Muslim communities in Cape Town.
Day 8 : Cape Peninsula Tour
Tour along the Atlantic Seaboard Coast driving through Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Camps, Clifton, and Chapman's Peak (subject to opening). Sight-see Hout Bay, Seal Island, Cape of Good Hope, and Cape Point. Finish the day with Simonstown and the Penguin Reserve.
Day 9 : Farewell to South Africa
