When was the last time you paused
to reflect on
where you're
heading in life?...

We live in a busy world where we’re bombarded with so many things to do; there are so many competing priorities that make us feel like we’re constantly running after a mirage.

We barely have time to pause, reflect and consciously determine where are we heading in this life and where are we heading in the Hereafter. It seems like even when we find time to reflect, we still lack the practical skills to translate some of our goals and aspirations into actions.

So we remain constantly feeling guilty that we’re “falling behind” or not reaching our full potential in this life and the next.

If the above sounds familiar, then we are here to help you!

But first, there are two questions:

If there was a way to transform your life just by going on a fun 1-week holiday, would you like to find out how?

Are you inspired by the idea of exploring an exotic island in a halal-friendly environment, and combine that with an immersive learning and spiritually rejuvenating experience that will truly make a positive impact in your life?

If you’ve answered yes to both questions, then you’ve come to the right place.

Rejuvenate, Realign and Reform Your Life in a Soulful Sri Lanka Retreat

ProductiveMuslim.com (the popular online personal development platform) & HalalTrip.com (the premier halal travel booking company), has come together to host a one-of-a-kind holiday that combines the best of halal holidays with the best of Islamic personal development.

And you’re invited!

Where and when?

Our special personal development retreat will be taking place in Sri Lanka, this November 2016, insha’Allah (God willing).

Who is this for?

This retreat is for any Muslim/Muslimah entrepreneur, student, or professional who's looking for some time off to re-assess their lives and learn practical life skills that empower them to live healthier, more meaningful, and more spiritually fulfilling lives - all in a beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the busy, modern world.

What will I enjoy?

The seven-day retreat incorporates realigning and rejuvenating all aspects of your life in a halal-friendly beach resort nestled amidst peaceful nature and a stunning environment. It’s an incredible way to escape the daily stresses of life, while practicing and living a productive Muslim lifestyle.

Here's what you'll get when you join this retreat:

  • 7-Day full-board stay at a beautiful, halal-friendly 5-star beach resort in Sri-Lanka

  • Productivity training workshops LIVE with Mohammed Faris, founder of ProductiveMuslim.com, to transform your spiritual, physical and social and spiritual productivity

  • Early Morning Fitness sessions to rejuvenate and rebalance your body (separate classes for Men & Women)

  • Nutrition Consultancy Sessions to optimize your diet for health and productivity

  • Spiritual Reflections & Goal Setting Exercises to ignite your path to fulfilling success, in this life and the next InshaAllah

  • Breathtaking sightseeing expeditions, including: Whale Watching, cycling across tea plantations, and visiting a world heritage site.

You’ll experience all of this with fellow brothers and sisters from all over the world whom you’ll live, eat, laugh, and reflect with for a 7 full days - thus making lifelong friendships that help shape the rest of your life.

At the end of the retreat, we hope you’ll head back home feeling spiritually, physically, and socially rejuvenated -- and most importantly -- ready to achieve the next level of success in this life and the next.

Sri Lanka – Enchanting destination with a rich Muslim culture

The pearl of the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka is a rich blend of history, culture and stunning scenery. The tiny island is home to diverse landscapes and terrain - rainforests, beaches, mountains, waterfalls and tea plantations - offering a true tropical paradise for every traveler. It is also home to a myriad of attractions, including eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as world-renowned beaches, ancient ruins, vibrant cityscapes and other excellent viewpoints to provide endless sight-seeing opportunities.

In addition to the exotic and unique travel experiences that Sri Lanka has to offer, the serene and idyllic atmosphere of the destination provides the perfect atmosphere for a peacefully relaxing retreat. Enjoy an enchanting visit to this exotic destination to discover the marvels that it has to offer.

Muslim, who make up close to 10% of the Island's population have a rich and long history in Sri Lanka. During the 7th Century A.D, Arabs looking to expand their trade eastwards, made Sri Lanka part of their trade route, thus bringing Islam with them. These Arab traders settled and married into local families. The Muslim population of Sri Lanka continued to grow when another wave of Muslims came into the country from the island of Java in Indonesia, as well as Malaysia, during the Dutch and British rule in the 18th and 19th centuries. The number of Muslims in Sri Lanka continued to grow during 19th and 20th centuries when Muslims from India in search of better business opportunities decided to make the island their home. Today, with a population of around 2 million, Muslim are an integral part of the Sri Lankan community.

Traveling to Sri Lanka is fairly easy with direct and transit flights available from many destinations. Visa can also be easily obtained through an online application process.

FAQs

  • How many people can join the retreat?

    • We want to keep the retreat group small and manageable in order to maximize the benefit for all attendees. Therefore, we'll cap the number of attendees at around 30-35 attendees maximum. Application will be on a first come first serve basis.
  • What is the recommended age for this retreat?

    • The age group that would benefit the most from this retreat, are those who can fully participate in all the planned activities of this retreat, including: vision/productivity workshops, nutrition counselling, fitness sessions, work at a local orphanage, cycling, and walking long distances.

Therefore, as long as the attendee is able to participate in the various activities planned for the retreat, then he/she is more than welcome to join and we do not have a set age limit.

(NOTE: Families with younger children can also join, however, they might opt out from one or two activities depending on their children’s ability to participate - see below question on families participation).

  • What is the level of fitness/health required?

    • You do not have to be very fit to join this retreat. As long as you are generally healthy and can perform some light physical activity, you should be fine.

Some of our more physically demanding activities, e.g. cycling through tea plantations and morning jogging session, you can opt out from if you feel they'll be too difficult for you (and if there’s a large number of you who can’t participate in such activities, we can design a different activity that is less physically demanding).

If you have a medical condition or concerned about the impact of the activities on your health, please consult your doctor prior to applying for the retreat.

  • Is it suitable for newly married couples?

    • This retreat is perfect for newly married couples! Not only will the retreat help equip the newly married couple with the right set of skills and tools to lead a healthy and happy life, it also gives them the space and guidance to reflect on what vision they want to set for themselves for the their future together (+ the retreat will be at a five star beach resort which will only add to their honeymoon experience!).
  • Can families join the retreat?

    • Families with older children (e.g. 12 years+) will find this retreat enjoyable and they can participate as a family in all the activities.

Families with younger children can also join, but they might opt out from certain activities if their children are too young. Having the said that, the HalalTrip team and the hotel staff will do their utmost to ensure that even families with younger children have a great time during their stay.

  • Is there an option to join only for a few days and not the full 7 seven days?

  • Can the retreat be extended beyond the 7 days?

    • Yes it can! When you make your booking and speak to the Halaltrip representative, ask for the extended package and they'll give you further options on how you can stay longer (and some cool activities to try out around Sri Lanka).
  • Can my non-Muslim family member attend?

    • Of course! This retreat is not just for Muslims. Although the teachings would be based on Islamic principles and values, but they will be deeply beneficial to non-Muslims too.
  • When is the travel date?

    • You need to arrange your travels to arrive in Sri Lanka on Saturday 19th November and depart Friday 25th November (you can opt for an extended version if you wish to stay longer - speak to the HalalTrip representative regarding an extended option for your stay).
  • What is the last day of booking confirmation?

    • The last day of booking will be October 30th 2016.
  • What is the refund policy?
