Prayer facilities at Kota Kinabalu International Airport will be available for Muslim travellers - in the Muslim prayer room at Terminal 1. Travellers may also visit the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque which is located not too far away from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Halal food will be readily available at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Terminal 1 in particular offers plenty of dining options such as KFC, Old Town White Coffee and Dunkin’ Donuts shops at level 1 as well as Seafood shops, Asian Delights and McDonald’s at level 3. In addition to the Halal eateries at the airport, there are several Halal restaurants - such as Yummy Chicken and Gardenia catering services - located close to the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, just 10-15 minutes away by taxi.

The staff at Kota Kinabalu International Airport are very friendly and helpful. The terminal area inside the airport offers a clean and peaceful environment for travellers to relax after a journey. The newly-opened Terminal 1 offers a wide rage of facilities for travellers - including a variety of shopping and dining venues. Internet access is also available and free WiFi internet access is offered at McDonald’s on level 3 as well. Terminal 2 offers nearly every facility offered at Terminal 1. Small duty-free shops are also available in Terminal 2. Though Terminal 2 has no widespread WiFi internet access, KFC located on Level 1 offers free WiFi internet access. Forex, ATMs and Left Luggage facilities available as well.

Shopping

The newly-opened shopping area at Terminal 1 offers a variety of shops for all types of travellers. Duty-free shops are also available. Passengers will be able to purchase Sabah handicrafts, perfumes, cosmetics, chocolates, books, as well as diamonds and jewelry items at level 3.

Amenities

Internet access, a medical clinic, Maybank and a CIMB Bank currency exchange counter with ATM are available on level 1. At level 3, there is another Maybank currency exchange with an ATM. Three sets of Forex and ATMs are available at Terminal 1. ATMs accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Cirrus, American Express and JCB cards.
