Overview

The Stamp Museum in Melaka is located in an early Dutch building which was once used by Dutch dignitaries residing in Melaka as a residence. The museum houses vast collections of more than 2000 stamps and artifacts from around the world and exhibits the rich history of stamps and the way they have changed and evolved over the years. The drastic change in artwork and design of the stamps is particularly noteworthy. The museum also houses a research library, conference hall and a stamp souvenir shop where collections of stamps as well as early banknotes are available for sale. It is located in the vicinity of several other museums and is a must-visit spot for stamp collectors.

Though designated prayer facilities in the Melaka Stamp Museum might not be available, several mosques are available in the vicinity of Jalan Kota in Melaka. Visitors could also go to a few of the prominent mosques in Melaka such as the Al-Azim Mosque, Kampung Hulu Mosque, Tranquerah Mosque and the Malacca Straits Mosque.

Halal Food

Plenty of Halal food options are available in the vicinity of the Melaka Stamp Museum including a number of Tandoori houses as well as restaurants serving local and North Indian cuisine. However it is recommended that visitors check with the owner about the preparation of food, in case non-Halal food items are also served.
