Overview
The little town of Sungai Pelek is located within Sepang and offers numerous delightful sights and sounds for visitors. Believed to have been named after a river created by a high tide, the town of Sungai Pelek is remembered for its role during the Second World War as well as the Communist insurgency in the 1950s when a chain-link fence was built around the village. The town is presently home to a diverse community of several religions and ethnic groups including populations of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Singhalese and Bengalis.
