Overview

Stretching across an area of over 10 acres, the CHOGM Park is a beautiful park area that was built to mark the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which was hosted in Malaysia in 1989. Several Bullet Wood trees were planted by the country delegations who took part in the 1989 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting as a keepsake and even at present, each tree bears the name of the name and the country of the delegate. The park also features a majestic whitewashed concrete structure atop which a number of flag poles are erected. Winding walkways and paths make their way through the park, making it a scenic spot for a leisurely evening stroll. A man-made beach strip is located next to the premises of the park as well.

Prayer Facilities

The CHOGM Park is in close proximity to the Al Hana Mosque – the most prominent mosque in Kuah. Plenty of private space is also available to make use of during prayer times.

Halal Food

Plenty of Halal food and Halal restaurants can be found in the vicinity of the CHOGM Park. The park is also within walking distance of the Langkawi Fair Mall where offers a range of food options (though it is recommended that visitors check with the store owners about the availability of Halal food). Other prominent restaurants in Kuah include SofeaCafé and the Arabica Restaurant.
