Overview
The Eagle Square - also known as the Dataran Lang - is a prominent man-made landmark that greets visitors to the island. The square spreads across an area of 19 acres and was established by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The majestic sculpture features a massive reddish-brown eagle positioned to take to flight with its enormous wings outstretched and stands tall at an imposing 12 metres in height. The area offers spectacular views of the surrounding Kuah Bay and features a series of fountains, terraces and bridges, creating a picture-perfect sight. The square is also located in close proximity to several shops, malls and places of interest and is the ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or even a private dinner at one of the restaurants close-by.
Prayer Facilities
Though a designated prayer room facility at Eagle Square itself might not be available, plenty of private space is available which can be used during prayer times. It is also possible for visitors to go to one of the mosques in Kuah including the main mosque - the Al-Hana Mosque.
Halal Food
Halal food is available in restaurants in the vicinity of the Eagle Square, but it is recommended that you first check with the restaurant owners about the availability of Halal food. It is also possible to go to a few of the Halal restaurants in Kuah such as the SofeaCafé and the Arabica Restaurant.
