Overview
The Lagenda Park - also known as the Lagenda Langkawi Dalam Taman - was opened to the public in 1996 beside the Kuah jetty and stretches across an area of over 50 acres. The park has been designed to give it an appearance of a elegantly-landscaped folklore-themed park, featuring several sculptures and historic monuments that depict various tales and legends involving beautiful princesses, giants, ogres and many mythical creatures. In addition to the sculptures, the park also comprises a series of man-made lakes, beach strips and walking trails, making it a popular spot for jogging, exercising or simply spending a few leisurely hours. Lagenda Park is also located in close proximity to several shops and malls, providing travellers easy access to shopping options.
Prayer Facilities
The Al Hana Mosque is located within walking distance of the Lagenda Park. Plenty of private space is also available to make use of during prayer times.
Halal Food
Several restaurants as well as duty-free shops are available within walking distance of the Lagenda Park. However some of these serve alcohol and it is recommended that you inquire with the shop owners about the availability of Halal food. The chocolates are a must-try and visitors could also visit a few of the more prominent Halal restaurants in the city such as the SofeaCafé and the Arabica Restaurant.
