Overview
The çeşme Castle is one of the most prominent landmarks in the city and is a key tourist attraction in çeşme. The origins of the çeşme Castle date back to as far as 500 years ago when it was constructed under the orders of the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1481 to 1512 - Beyazit II - who intended to use the site to defend the coast from pirate attacks. The castle is positioned majestically in the heart of the town and dominates the entire city with its dramatic walls and massive structures. It features a number of historic artefacts and monuments located in two separate courtyards and a walk to the top of the castle will offer spectacular views of the entire city.
