Overview

The Manavgat Waterfall is a popular attraction amongst many tourists to Side. It is located along the Manavgat River which winds across Turkey's eastern slopes for around 90 kilometres before it meets the waterfall. The Manavgat Waterfall is located close to Side, a couple of kilometres north of the district of Manavgat. The rapid water crashing downwards forms a spectacular sight of a white foam layer over the river. The scenic beauty of the area gives rise to ample photography opportunities and will be paradise to both nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. A shady tea garden area is also located in the vicinity of the Manavgat Waterfall, offering tourists a quiet place to rest and relax. Interestingly, the waterfall was also depicted on the Turkish 5 lira banknotes during the late 1900s.

Prayer Facilities

Plenty of private space is available in the vicinity of the Manavgat Waterfall that Muslim travellers may make use of during prayer times. It is also possible to visit some of the mosques in Side – such as the Fatith Mosque and the Selimiye Mosque which are the main mosques in Side – during prayer times.

Halal Food

Several restaurants and food stalls are located in the vicinity of the Manavgat Waterfall, serving a delightful assortment of Halal food. When in doubt, Muslim travellers may enquire with the restaurant owners and stall owners about the authenticity of the Halal food being sold. More prominent Halal restaurants are available in Side and are located a short distance away.
