Built in 1986, the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Museum is located towards the east of Xiaguan Town's Erhai South Road, in close proximity to the Erhai Dock. The museum is a prominent landmark and attraction in the area and is frequented by visitors throughout the year. Covering an area of around 50 metric units, the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Museum showcases the rich history and culture of the region with over 7,000 artefacts and ancient relics that are on display. Some of the highlight items at the museum include the Dali Bronze Drum, the Earthenware House and the Serial Bells that date back to 476 BC-221 BC. The best time to visit Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Museum would be during the months of March to June, when the climate is pleasant and when numerous March Celebration activities are held.
