Overview
Monkey Beach is one of the main attractions at Phi Phi Island and is a popular tourist attraction. The beach is located towards the north-west of Loh Dalam Bay and can be reached by kayaking or by walking. The beach gets its name from the colonies of monkeys that reside around the beach area who interact with the the tourists and travellers at the beach. Travellers may have to keep in mind that the monkeys can be bold and aggressive at times and it is best to avoid them and not carry any food items with you at the beach. The beach area itself is stunning, with powdery white sand shores and glittery blue waters, offering spectacular views. The beach is particularly beautiful during sunset when the sky turns into dazzling shades of crimson.
Prayer Facilities
Muslim travellers in need of prayer facilities at Monkey Beach may visit the Al-Islah Mosque, which is the only mosque at Phi Phi Islands. The mosque is located on Ko Phi Phi Don and is prominent white building which can easily be spotted. Plenty of open space will also be available around the beach area to make use of during prayer times.
Halal Food
There are quite a few Halal restaurants at Phi Phi Islands for Muslim travellers. It is recommended that you contact the manager of your hotel or resort in advance to inform them about your Halal food requirements so that necessary arrangements can be made. Muslim travellers may also opt for vegetarian cuisine or seafood which will be readily available.
