Overview

New Zealand's tallest man-made structure, Sky Tower, is an iconic 328 metre observation tower located in the heart of Auckland. Its height and unique design have made it a prominent landmark and attraction in Auckland and it receives numbers of visitors throughout the year. Opened to the public in 1997 after three years of construction, Sky Tower offers glorious views of Auckland's cityscape and promises a truly captivating experience for visitors. The tower features three viewing levels, with the upper section of the tower housing two restaurants and a cafe. The main observation level located at 610 feet features thick glass flooring, providing a dramatic view to the bottom. The top observatory is known as Skydeck and offers breathtaking views of the city in the distance. SkyJump is another highlight at Sky Tower and lets visitors take a cable-controlled jump from the observation deck.

Prayer Facilities

Though designated prayer facilities at Sky Tower will be unavailable for Muslim travellers, it is possible to enquire for a private area to use during prayer times. Muslim travellers can also visit some of the many mosques in Auckland which are scattered across the city such as the Al Maqtoum Masjid, Lynfield Islamic Centre, the Auckland University Masjid, Al Falaah Islamic Centre, Al Iqra Islamic Centre and the Birkenhead Islamic Center.

Halal Food

Muslim travellers looking for Halal food near Sky Tower can visit some of the many Halal restaurants in Auckland. A few prominent Halal restaurants in Auckland include Kebab City, Zezenya, Ayutthaya Thai Food and Salateen. Though Sky Tower does house a few restaurants and cafes, the availability of Halal food will be limited.
