Pitti Palace - better known as the Palazzo Pitti in Italian - is a majestic Renaissance palace in Florence, Italy. Located towards the south of River Arno, the history of Pitti Palace dates back to 1458 when it was once the home of the grand-dukes of Tuscany and later the King of Italy. Presently, it is the largest museum complex in the city and is one of the country's most prominent and popular attractions. The palace is separated into a number of various galleries and museums such as the Palatine Gallery, the Silver Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Costume Gallery, the Porcelain Museum and the Museum of Carriages.
