Overview
The Ca' Pesaro is a magnificent 17th century marble palace facing the Grand Canal of Venice. At present, it is a prominent modern art museum and sees numbers of tourists and visitors throughout the year. Visitors will be able to see a wide range of paintings and art from the 19th and 20th centuries - including several works by Venetian painters, recognised artworks by foreign artists and several other temporary exhibitions and unpublished works by upcoming Italian artists. A separate Oriental Art Museum is also housed on the upper floor and showcases over 30,000 objects and artefacts mainly from Japan, China and Indonesia. In addition to its exhibits, the Ca' Pesaro is noteworthy for its fresco and oil decorations by world-renowned artists such as Bambini and Pittoni - that still adorn the palace walls and ceilings.
