Marine Drive

Overview

Officially known as Netaji Subhash Chander Bose Road, the Marine Drive is one of Mumbai's most famous landmarks. Stretching from Nariman Point to Chowpatty Beach, this C-shaped road on the coast is a popular seaside promenade visited by locals and tourist alike for some fresh air and open space. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a leisurely evening stroll along the curved walkway and to take in the lovely view of the setting sun. Located at the foot of the Malaber Hill, the Marine Drive, from an elevated point at night time, with its numerous street lights creates the illusion of a string of pearls; which is why the street is also referred to as the Queen's Necklace.

Prayer Facilities

Although Muslim tourists may not find prayer facilities on the Marine Drive, they will be able to locate quite a few mosques in the city of Mumbai. Mumbai is known to be home to numerous mosques, and finding one in the city will not be difficult. Muslim tourists could therefore get the locals to help them find a nearby mosque, when needed.

Halal Food

Muslim tourists trying to locate Halal restaurants in the city of Mumbai will be able to find a plethora of restaurants serving a diverse range of cuisines. While on the Marine Drive, visitors will find many street vendors selling a variety of popular Indian snack food items like pav baji, vade pav, bhel puri and more. Those adventurous enough could try these Indian favorites or they could visit a restaurant nearby.
