Overview
Housed in an 18th-century Neo-Classical building designed by architect Juan de Villanueva, is the Prado Museum; Madrid's top cultural sight. This famed museum is also said to be one of the greatest art galleries in the world. The Prado Museum is known for displaying one of the world's finest art collections and is home to over 7000 works of art. These works of art by great European artists like Velázquez, Bosch, Raphael, Goya, and Rubens represent culture and history from the early 19th century all the way back to the 12th century. Because the museum is home to such a huge collection of art, it is best for visitors to come with a few works of art in mind.
Prayer Facilities
Although the Prado Museum will not have prayer facilities for Muslim visitors, there are a few mosques in the city of Madrid. Tourists could therefore ask to be directed to the nearest mosque to the museum. The Madrid Central Mosque and the Omar Mosque are two of Madrid's popular mosques.
Halal Food
The Prado Museum is home to a cafeteria, for those looking to take a break and to get a bite to eat. Most of the food here will however not be Halal. Muslim visitors to the museum can either try out the vegetarian and seafood dishes here, or they could dine at one of the many Halal restaurants in the city of Madrid.
