Overview

Located in the city of Valencia, the City of Arts and Sciences, is a unique complex completely devoted to culture, science and education. This city within a city is a futuristic cultural world and is one of the most popular attractions in Valencia. Designed by Santiago Calatrva, a famous Spanish architect, this complex consists of five main elements. The Oceanográfico is home to over 500 marine species and is the largest aquarium in Europe, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum offers interactive and innovative exhibitions that are educational and entertaining, the Hemisfèric consist of an IMAX cinema, planetarium and laserium, the Umbracle is a landscaped walk with plant species native to Valencia, and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, is home to an opera house and performing arts center.

Prayer Facilities

Although Muslims will not be able to locate prayer facilities at the City of Arts and Sciences, the city of Valencia is known to be home to a couple of mosques and prayer facilities. Therefore, when needed Muslim visitors could ask to be directed to the nearest mosque to the complex.

Halal Food

The City of Arts and Sciences offers visitors a plethora of dining options. Visitors could dine at the Sidewalk Café, the Science Museum Restaurant, the Hemisfèric Snack Bar Restaurant or at one of the many restaurants and eateries at the Oceanogràfic. While the food at these establishments may not be Halal certified, Muslim tourists will definitely be able to find seafood and vegetarian dishes.
