Located in the southern corner of Bilbao's Old Town, on the right bank of the Nervion River, is the popular Market La Ribera, also known as Mercado de la Ribera or Ribera Market. Built in 1929 by the architect Pedro Ispizua, the Ribera Market is now located in the same location as a 14th century market. Covering an area of 10,000 square metres, the Ribera Market is known to be the largest indoor market in Europe. A must-visit for foodies, this large market is home to hundreds of stalls displaying a wide selection of fresh produce.
