Overview
The Galician Museum of Contemporary Art, located at the Puerta del Camino, opposite Museo do Pobo Galego is home to impressive exhibits by national and international artists. Offering visitors a glimpse of the Galician art scene, the Galician Center of Contemporary Art displays works by renowned 20th century Galician artists as well as up and coming artists. For those interested, the GACC also conducts numerous workshops and seminars along with a variety of activities to get the community involved. Visitors will not only appreciate the works of art housed here, but the modern building designed by acclaimed Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza modern is itself quite popular. Those visiting the museum will also be able to experience some of the best views of the historic quarter of Santiago from its terraces.
Prayer Facilities
The Galician Museum of Contemporary Art does not have prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Those visiting the museum and requiring prayer facilities will therefore either have to find a place to offer their prayers in the secluded Bonaval Park next door, or they will have to offer their prayers in their hotel rooms, since the city of Santiago does not have a mosque.
Halal Food
The Galician Museum of Contemporary Art has a cafeteria for those looking to get a bite to eat. While the food served here will not be Halal certified, Muslims visiting the museum are sure to find a variety of vegetarian and seafood dishes to dine on. They must however make sure that these dishes do not consist of any non-Halal items.
