Overview

A trip to Ibiza is not complete without a visit to the incredible Cueva De Can Marca or Caves of San Marca. Situated in the north of the island in the Port of Sant Miquel, the Caves of San Marca are over 100,000 years old and were discovered by smugglers, who used it to hide their loot. Formed due to earth faults, the caves are home to stalagmites and stalactites and ancient geological formations and beautiful waterfalls. There are tours conducted for those interested in exploring the caves, as well as a spectacular light and music show at the 30-foot waterfall. When exiting the cave, visitors will be treated to stunning, panoramic views of the whole of the bay of the Puerto San Miguel.

Prayer Facilities

Muslims visiting the Caves of San Marca will not be able to find prayer facilities in its premises. They will however be able to find a couple of mosques and Islamic centers in the city of Ibiza, due to its sizeable Muslim population. Muslim visitors can therefore ask to be directed to prayer facilities such as Masjid Yousef Ibn Tachafin, the Moulvi Idris Mosque or Comunidad Musulmana de Santa Eulalia.

Halal Food

Although visitors to the Caves of San Marca will not be able to find any eateries, they are sure to find numerous places to dine at in Ibiza. Muslim tourists will also be able to locate a few Halal restaurants in the city. While visiting the caves, tourists can therefore ask staff to guide them to the best Halal restaurant nearby.
