The northern part of Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile; also referred to as the 'Mag Mile', runs from the Chicago River to Oak Street. It is one of the greatest avenues of the world and is home to numerous luxurious restaurants, department stores and malls, shops and boutiques, as well as residential and commercial buildings, upscale hotels, majestic architecture and so much more. This fashionable street is said to be one of the best shopping districts in the world and is therefore a must-visit for all shopaholics visiting Chicago. The Magnificent Mile is also located close to some of Chicago's popular attractions like the Chicago Water Tower, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Wrigley Building.
