Overview

A must-visit for those looking to truly experience Chicago is the Navy Pier. This 1000 metre long pier was built in 1916 on the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan. The activities offered here are great for kids and adults, therefore making it Chicago's number one tourist attraction. Navy Pier is home to a variety of fantastic restaurants, beautiful gardens and numerous attractions and activities for young and old, including the Pier Park, an IMAX theatre, the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows and the Chicago Children's Museum. The Pier Park is an amusement park that houses a 150 foot Ferris wheel; which offers incredible views of Lake Michigan and Chicago, as well as a miniature golf course, a musical carousel, and a number of other fun rides and attractions for the entire family. Those visiting the pier during summer months will also get the opportunity to take a tour of the area on one of the sightseeing or dining boat cruises available. Navy Pier is the ideal family destination; therefore a trip to Chicago is not complete without a visit to this popular attraction.

Prayer Facilities

Muslims visiting Navy Pier may not be able to find prayer facilities. The city of Chicago is however known to be home to many mosques, such as Masjid-Al-Faatir, Masjid Rahmat, Masjid Al-Noor, Masjid Al-Ansar and Al-Madina Islamic Center. If unable to find a clean, quiet space to offer their prayers at Navy Pier, Muslim tourists can ask to be directed to the nearest prayer facility.

Halal Food

Finding a restaurant to dine at while on Navy Pier will not be a problem. These establishments range from casual to fine dining and offer a variety of dining options to suit all tastes and budget. Muslim tourists can either dine on the vegetarian and seafood dishes at these restaurants, or they can ask to be guided to one of the numerous Halal restaurants in the city of Chicago.
