Overview

Located in the Smithsonian complex on the National Mall in Washington is the most popular museum in the world by attendance numbers; the National Air and Space Museum. Dedicated to the history of flight and all things aviation related, the museum is home to 23 galleries consisting of numerous exhibits as well as to an IMAX Theater, a planetarium and public observatory. While at the museum, visitors will come across popular exhibits like the 1903 Wright Flyer, the Apollo 11 Command Module, the Spirit of St. Louis, the Hubble Space Telescope, Amelia Earhart's Lockheed 5B Vega and many more exhibits on aviation and space artifacts and heritage. The museum is great for kids and adults as it offers a variety of interactive programs and educational events, science demonstrations and loads more. The National Air and Space Museum also has a second location in Chantilly, Virginia.

Prayer Facilities

The National Air and Space Museum, just like most other attractions in the United States, does not offer prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Since the museum is located on the National Mall, tourists should be able to find a clean and quiet place outdoors to offer their prayers. If unable to do so, they can make use of the facilities offered at one of the many mosques or Islamic Centers found in Washington. The Islamic Center of Washington and Idriss Mosque are two of the numerous mosques found here.

Halal Food

The Wright Place Food Court found at the museum offers a variety of fantastic dining options. Since these establishments are sure to not be Halal certified Muslim visitors can dine on suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes. Washington is home to quite a large number of Muslims, which means that finding Halal food in the capital won't be much of a problem.
