Overview
One of Los Angeles's most popular attractions meant for the whole family is the Griffith Observatory, located in Griffith Park. Offering a commanding view of the Los Angeles Basin, the Griffith Observatory is a landmark and an absolute must-visit when in the city of Los Angeles. It is home to numerous space-related exhibits that will keep visitors occupied for hours. There are also a variety of shows and events that take place at the observatory, including star shows in the planetarium. While here, visitors must make it a point to use the historical Zeiss Telescope on the roof to gaze at the cosmos. There are also telescopes found on the observatory's lawn. This cultural icon also consists of the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon, the Gottlieb Transit Corridor and the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.
Prayer Facilities
Muslim tourists will not be able to find prayer facilities at the Griffith Observatory. Visitors will however be able to find a clean and quiet place outdoors to offer their prayers. Muslim tourists could also make use of the prayer facilities offered at one of the mosques or Islamic Centers in Los Angeles. Masjid Omar Ibn Al Khattab, Masjid Ibaadillah and the UCLA Masjid are a few of the many mosques in the city.
Halal Food
The Café at the End of the Universe is operated by world-famous Wolfgang Puck. Visitors to the observatory will be able to find a selection of delicious food items here, but they will not be Halal certified. Muslim visitors can either dine on the suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes available, or they can visit one of the numerous Halal restaurants in Los Angeles.
