Locate at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains in Los Angeles; Griffith Park is the ideal spot for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. It is the largest municipal park and urban wilderness area in the United States and is spread out over 4,210 acres. The recreational area includes the Autry National Center, the Greek Theater, the Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round, the Griffith Observatory, the Griffith Park Southern Railroad, the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Travel Town Museum, and areas for pony rides, picnics, hiking, bike rental and more. With so much to do and see, Griffith Park makes the perfect destination for a fun day out with the entire family.

Prayer Facilities

Griffith Park does not offer prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. There is however plenty of open space for Muslims to locate a clean and quiet area to offer their prayers. Muslim tourists could also make use of the prayer facilities offered at one of the mosques or Islamic Centers in the city. Masjid Omar Ibn Al Khattab, Masjid Ibaadillah and the UCLA Masjid are a few of the many mosques in Los Angeles.

Halal Food

The Trails, in Griffith Park is the perfect place for visitors to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat before heading out on a hike or to one of the many attractions at the park. While the establishment is not Halal certified, Muslim tourists will definitely be able to find suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes here. Also, since there is quite a large Muslim population in Los Angeles, finding Halal restaurants outside the park will be quite easy.
