Overview

Faneuil Hall, located in the heart of downtown Boston, along the Freedom Trail, is a marketplace and a meeting hall whose origins date back to 1742. Originally set up for merchants, fishermen and vendors, Faneuil Hall also played host to numerous well known figures like George Washington and Samuel Adams and is therefore now one of the most popular attractions in Boston and a well known stop on the Freedom Trail. Known to be one of America's premier urban marketplaces, the Faneuil Hall Marketplace attracts hundreds of locals and tourists and is made up of the North Market, Quincy Market and South Market buildings. It houses over 50 shops and a variety of great restaurants and food stalls. Those visiting Faneuil Hall will be entertained by the numerous street performers who take over the cobblestone promenades.

Prayer Facilities

Muslim visitors won't be able to find prayer facilities at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. They will therefore have to make use of the facilities offered at one of the several mosques in Boston, such as Masjid al-Qur'an and the Islamic Center of Boston. Muslim tourists can ask to be directed to the closest prayer facility when needed.

Halal Food

Finding places to dine at when visiting the Faneuil Hall Marketplace will not be a problem at all. As mentioned above, the attraction is home to quite a number of restaurants and food stalls. Muslim visitors will most likely not be able to locate a Halal restaurant while here, but they are sure to find plenty of restaurants serving suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes. Also, because Boston is home to a sizeable Muslim population, tourists will be able to find many fantastic Halal restaurants located around the city.
