Overview

A great place to take the kids when in the city of Houston is the Children's Museum of Houston. Founded in 1980, by a group of parents, this museum was designed to educate kids through innovative and fun exhibits. Although the museum is meant for children aged 12 and below, it is a great outing for the entire family. The museum is packed to the brim with a variety of exhibits focusing on a plethora of subjects ranging from health and human development to culture, science and technology and history. The museum features attractions on robotics and animation, physics and engineering, the environment, those that develop critical thinking skills and so much more. The Children's Museum of Houston even gives kids the chance to test-drive 24 different jobs at Kidtropolis.

Prayer Facilities

The Children's Museum of Houston does not have prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Muslims visiting the museum will therefore have to make use of the services offered at one of the many mosques in the city. Masjid al-Amin, Al-Noor Society Central Masjid and ISGH Masjid Hamza all serve the city's Muslim community as well as tourists.

Halal Food

The Fresh Café, located inside the Children's Museum of Houston offers visitors a fantastic selection of delicious and healthy dining choices. While the establishment isn't Halal certified, Muslims visiting the museum can dine on suitable vegetarian and seafood items. The city of Houston is also known to house a plethora of Halal restaurants. Tourists could therefore ask to be guided to the best one near the museum if needed.
