Visitors looking to relax and unwind when in Cardiff should head to the city's green heart; Bute Park & Arboretum. Located just a short walk from Cardiff Castle, Bute Park is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the UK. Covering an area of about 56 hectares, the park is home to a variety of attractions including those of historic and wildlife interest. This extensive green area comprises of urban woodland, an arboretum, play areas and sports pitches, trails, horticultural features and more. The arboretum at Bute Park is of national significance and is home to a variety of significant and rare trees, including the highest number of 'Champion Trees' in any public park in the UK. The park is also flanked by Cardiff Castle, River Taff, Pontcanna Fields and Sophia Gardens, making it a great spot to stop and relax before exploring the other attractions.

Prayer Facilities

Bute Park & Arboretum does not offer prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. But, because it covers such a large area, Muslim visitors will definitely be able to find a secluded place within the park to offer their prayers. The city of Cardiff also houses quite a few mosques, namely the South Wales Islamic Centre, Bilal Jamia Masjid, Jalalia Mosque, Madina Mosque and Al-Manar Islamic Centre, amongst others.

Halal Food

Visitors to Bute Park will be able to get a bite to eat at the Secret Garden Café, Pettigrew Tea Rooms and the Summerhouse Café. All three establishments offer a fantastic variety of food and drink items to suit all tastes. Muslims visiting the park will definitely be able to find suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes on the menu at all of the outlets.
