Lotherton Hall

Overview

When in Leeds, a visit to Lotherton Hall is an absolute must. This charming Edwardian country estate was once home to the Gascoigne family and now offers a great day out for the family. With plenty of things to do and see, Lotherton Hall is sure to keep the entire family occupied. Visitors get to see what life was like in Edwardian times when visiting the house, the whole family will also be able to dress up in costumes and pretend like they're Lotherton's residents. There are also numerous interactive displays and exhibits such as Curiosity Cabinets, Discovery Chests and The Gascoignes Abroad. Outside the house visitors will come across stunning grounds, walkways and trails, historic stables, numerous play areas, picnic areas, an orchard, Edwardian Gardens, a Bird Garden and a Deer Park. The Bird Garden is home to a variety of colorful birds like flamingos, Snowy Owls, cranes and more. Lotherton Hall has its own herd of red deer which can be found at the Deer Park.

Prayer Facilities

Muslims visiting Lotherton Hall will not be able to find prayer rooms within its premises. They can therefore either offer their prayers in a secluded place in the garden, or visit one of the several mosques in the city. Leeds Makkah Masjid, Leeds Islamic Centre and Al Madina Mosque are three of the many mosques and Islamic Centers in Leeds.

Halal Food

Stables Café found at Lotherton Hall is famous for its home-made cakes but also offers a variety of delicious snacks and drinks, while the kiosk in the courtyard offers a selection of cold goodies like ice creams and ice lollies. Lotherton Hall is also a great place for picnics. Visitors must therefore make it a point to take a long some snacks and enjoy a meal in the beautiful garden.
