Overview

Minar-e-Pakistan, located in Lahore's Iqbal Park is one of the most important national monuments of the country and is one of the city's top tourist attractions. It was built to commemorate the day when the historic Pakistan Resolution was passed in 1940, on that same site. Minar-e-Pakistan is 70 metres tall and reflects Mughal and Islamic architecture. Its base is shaped like a five pointed star and it encloses crescent shaped pools. Here visitors will be able to see floral inscriptions featuring the text of the Lahore Resolution in Urdu, Bengali and English, Delhi Resolution's text, Quranic verses, the 99 attributes of Allah and more. Visitors will also be able to climb to the top of the minaret for panoramic views of the surrounding area. The top can be reached via an elevator.

Prayer Facilities

Although Muslims visiting Minar-e-Pakistan will not be able to find prayer facilities at the attraction, they will be able to offer their prayers in a secluded place in the park surrounding it. They can also make use of the facilities offered at one of the many mosques in the city, such as Badshahi Mosque, the Grand Jamia Mosque and Wazir Khan Mosque.

Halal Food

Visitors to Minar-e-Pakistan are sure to locate several food carts and stalls located in the surrounding Iqbal Park. They can even bring along some snacks to enjoy while relaxing in the park. The area around the landmark is also known to house a variety of fantastic restaurants. Those visiting the monument can therefore ask to be guided to the best restaurant nearby.
