Overview
Eagles Flying is one of the best places in County to Sligo to visit with family. Spread across 27 hectares and known to be the largest sanctuary for birds of prey and owls, in Ireland, Eagles Flying offers visitors an experience like no other. Not only do visitors get the chance to learn about the endangered species found here, they also get to experience the majestic birds flying overhead, during the bird shows that take place daily. Those visiting the sanctuary also get to hold the birds, and pose with them for pictures. Also found here is a touch-zoo, home to a variety of animals like donkeys, horses and rabbits, and therefore ideal for young visitors.
Prayer Facilities
Although Muslims visiting Eagles Flying will not be able to find prayer facilities at the sanctuary, they will be able to locate a clean and quiet place outdoors to offer their prayers. Visitors could also visit the Globe House Muslim Community, which is the only known prayer facilities in Sligo Town.
Halal Food
It is unknown if Eagles Flying is home to a food outlet. Visitors will therefore have to visit the nearest town to find a restaurant or café. Although the town of Sligo is known to be home to a small community of Muslims, there are no known Halal restaurants. Muslim tourists will therefore have to dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes since non-Halal ingredients are sure to be widely used.
