Located in the heart of Dublin city, in Phoenix Park is the popular Dublin Zoo; a must-visit attraction for every individual visiting Dublin. Known to be one of the most popular family attractions in Ireland and one of the oldest zoo's in the world, this 28 hectare zoo is home to over 400 animals, and offers something for every visitor. Amongst regularly seen animals, the zoo also houses a variety of rare and exotic animals from around the world. These animals can be found throughout the different habitats at the zoo. Visitors can explore the African Savanna, the Kaziranga Forest Trail, the Family Farm, the Gorilla Rainforest, the Asian Forests, Roberts House, South American House and the House of Reptiles to see a wide selection of animals roaming freely in these natural habitats. There are also daily talks and feedings that take place, for those who wish to get up-close and personal, and learn more about the different species found at the zoo.

Prayer Facilities

While Muslim tourists will not be able to find prayer facilities at the Dublin Zoo, they may be able to find a secluded place outdoors to offer their prayers. The city of Dublin is also home to numerous mosques and prayer halls, Muslim visitors can therefore ask to be guided to the nearest one. The Islamic Foundation of Ireland and Dublin Mosque, the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland, the Muslim Association of Ireland and the Clondalkin Muslim Mosque are just a few prayer facilities in the city.

Halal Food

Visitors to the Dublin Zoo will come across numerous food stalls and cafés. One of the most popular and unique restaurants found at the zoo is however the Meerkat Restaurant. While all of the dining establishments found at the attraction are sure to serve a variety of delicious food items, Muslim tourists will have to dine on vegetarian or seafood dishes, as most dishes will consist of non-Halal ingredients. Muslim visitors could also visit one of the numerous Halal restaurants in Dublin.
