Overview
Limerick's award winning People's Park is the ideal place for tourists to take a break after a tiring day of sightseeing. This tranquil oasis offers a variety of fun things to do for visitors of all ages. The park is known for is beautiful displays of flowers during the summer, and for its collection of mature deciduous and evergreen trees such as maple, Oak, Ash, Beech, Elm, Birch, Holly, Horse Chestnut, Poplar, Walnut and Flowering Crab, all of which add to the park's appeal. People's Park also houses gazebos, play areas for the kids, a drinking fountain, a memorial plaque to Thomas Spring Rice and the Limerick City Gallery of Art.
Prayer Facilities
Although Muslims will not be able to find prayer facilities at People's Park, they will definitely be able to locate a clean and quiet area within the park to offer their prayers. If unable to locate a secluded spot, Muslim visitors could make use of the facilities offered at the Limerick Mosque.
Halal Food
It is unclear if People's Park houses a food outlet, but visitors are sure to find plenty of cafés and restaurants in the areas surrounding the park, at which they can dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes. Visitors can also take along a picnic which can be enjoyed while at the park. Muslim tourists should be able to find at least one Halal restaurant in Limerick.
