Overview
With Waterford being a historic city, it houses a number of medieval walls and towers; the most impressive one being Reginald's Tower – an imposing landmark of the city. It is located at the end of the city's quay, in the area first settled by the Vikings in 914, the Viking Triangle. Known to be the oldest civic urban structure in Ireland, Reginald's Tower has been used as a mint, prison and military store in the past. Today, it houses the Waterford Viking Museum; an exhibition featuring Viking Waterford. Visitors will come across the weapons of a Viking warrior, as well as an exquisite piece of jewelry called the Waterford Kite Brooch, and other artifacts relating to Waterford's Viking heritage.
Prayer Facilities
Reginald's Tower does not have prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Muslims visiting the attraction will however be able to find a couple of mosques in the city, namely the Central Watford Mosque and the North Watford Mosque. Muslim visitors can therefore ask staff at the attraction to direct them to one of these mosques when needed.
Halal Food
While visitors to Reginald's Tower will not find any food outlets within the attraction, they will be able to find plenty of cafés and restaurants in the surrounding areas. Muslim tourists will have to dine on seafood or vegetarian dishes at a local non-Halal restaurant, or they can visit one of the few Halal restaurants in Waterford.
