Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi's Ba Dinh Square is one of the most important historical attractions in the city. Built over 2 years, to honor national hero; President Ho Chi Minh this mausoleum is a great example of national unity. Inside the massive marble edifice, under a glass case, lies the preserved body of Ho Chi Minh, surrounded by numerous guards. Queues at this attraction are usually quiet long as visitors are allowed to express their admiration and respects towards him. If lucky, those visiting the mausoleum may also get the chance to see the changing of the guard; similar to that seen at Buckingham Palace. Visitors must be aware that there are strict rules to be followed, such as photography is strictly prohibited, silence must be observed and it is forbidden to put your hand in your pockets.

Prayer Facilities

There are no prayer facilities at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. However, because Hanoi does have a sizeable Muslim population, Muslims tourists will be able to find one mosque in the city. Located in the city's Old Quarter, on Hang Luoc Street, Al-Noor Mosque is the only known mosque in Hanoi city.

Halal Food

While finding Halal food in Hanoi city will be quite difficult, it will not be impossible since the city is home to quite a number of Muslims. Since non-Halal items are commonly found in local restaurants and food stalls, it is best if Muslim visitors dine at one of the few Halal restaurants in the city.
