When in Ho Chi Minh City, a great place to take kids is the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Said to be one of the oldest zoos in the world, the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens offer much to see and do. It is home to hundreds of fascinating animals and beautiful tropical plants and has become a top attraction amongst locals and tourists alike. The Botanical Gardens houses a vast array of flora and fauna, some of which date back over a hundred years. While here, visitors also get the opportunity to learn more about the different species and how they can be protected. The number of exotic animals found in the zoo will keep visitors occupied throughout the day, and one of the best times to visit the zoo is during feeding time. There are elephants, camels, giraffes, tigers, leopards, bears, lions, ostrich, hippos, parrots, peacocks, monkeys, pelicans, lizards, turtles and much more. Also found at the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens is an amusement park for kids. While the Ho Chi Minh Zoo is not the best in the world, it is definitely worthy of a visit when in the city.

Prayer Facilities

While Muslims visiting the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens will not be able to find prayer facilities within its premises, they should be able to find a clean and quiet place in the gardens to offer their prayers. If unable to do so, they can visit one of the several mosques in the city, such as the Central Mosque, Cholon Mosque, Jamiul Islamiyah Mosque, Al Rahman Mosque and Jamiyah Islamic Mosque.

Halal Food

Visitors to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens may be able to locate a couple of food stalls. The attraction is also a popular picnic spot amongst locals, so visitors could take along some snacks. For those looking specifically for Halal food, there are a number of Halal restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, with many located in close proximity to the local mosques.
