Overview

Ho Chi Minh City's grisly War Remnants Museum is one of its top attractions and is one of the most popular museums in the country. Formerly known as the Museum of Chinese and American War Crimes, the War Remnants Museum tells visitors the story of the long and brutal Vietnam War through fascinating displays. While not for the squeamish, this museum is great for those looking to learn about the Vietnam War. Those visiting the museum will come across numerous graphic photographs and text, along with displays of guns and other American military equipment, including eerie bomb remnants, a fighter plane, cages where prisoners were kept, a guillotine, a tank, as well as other military vehicles, and more. Since the displays here are quite horrifying, the museum is not a family-friendly attraction, and it is best avoided when with kids.

Prayer Facilities

While finding prayer facilities at the War Remnants Museum will not be possible, Muslim visitors will be able to find quite a number of mosques in Ho Chi Minh City. The Central Mosque is the most prominent mosque in the city, while Cholon Mosque, Jamiul Islamiyah Mosque, Jamul An Ar Mosque, Al Rahman Mosque and Jamiyah Islamic Mosque are some other masjids in Ho Chi Minh City.

Halal Food

Visitors to Ho Chi Minh City will not find it a problem to locate Halal restaurants. Due to the city's sizeable Muslim population, Halal cuisine is widely found. Muslim tourists will be able to find plenty of Halal food served at restaurants and stalls located around the mosques in the city. Some of the Halal restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City include Halal Saigon, Kedai Shamsudin Restaurant and Ali Baba Restaurant. Visitors to the War Remnants Museum can therefore ask staff at the attraction to direct them to the best Halal restaurant nearby when needed.
