Overview
Hoi An's Central Market offers a shopping experience like no other. This bustling market is known to be one of Vietnam's best and is therefore an absolute must-visit when in Hoi An. Situated by the side of the Thu Bon River, the Central Market is frequented by locals and tourists alike. It is packed full of stalls selling a variety of exotic fresh fruits and vegetables, spices, meats, souvenirs, handicrafts, textiles, house hold items and delicious local foods, and bargaining while here is a must. The lively market is also renowned for its tailors, who usually get the required stitching done within 24 hours. Hoi An's Central Market offers plenty to browse through, and even gives visitors the opportunity to sample some unique Vietnamese dishes.
Prayer Facilities
Muslim tourists will not be able to find prayer facilities while at the Central Market; since the city of Hoi An itself does not have any mosques. Muslims visiting the city will therefore have to pray in their hotel rooms, or if possible, they could try to locate a secluded place outdoors to offer their prayers.
Halal Food
As mentioned above, Hoi An's Central Market is the perfect destination for foodies. It is however not the best spot for Muslims, as there are no known Halal food stalls at the market. Since there are no Halal restaurants in Hoi An as well, Muslim tourists will have to dine at local seafood and vegetarian restaurants. While at the market, visitors are sure to come across numerous stalls selling all kinds of fresh fruits, as well as those selling a variety of fresh seafood.
