Da Lat Railway Station

Overview

Since the Da Lat Railway Station is one of the most beautiful stations in Southeast Asia, it is an absolute must visit. Built in 1943, the Da Lat Railway Station offers visitors a glimpse of the city's colonial history and is known to be one of the country's finest pieces of architecture. Once called the Crémaillère Railway Station, this unique French monument is now abandoned. This Art Deco train station is known for its cog railway, which is a distinctive feature of the station. Visitors will also come across old locomotives on display, including a Japanese steam train and will even get to enjoy a short train ride. They can ride one of the five scheduled trains that run from Dalat to Trai Mat station. The train ride lasts about 30 minutes, and offers stunning views of the countryside.

Prayer Facilities

Finding prayer facilities at the Da Lat Railway Station will not be possible. Muslim tourists may however be able to locate a clean and quiet area in the station to offer their prayers. If unable to do so, Muslim visitors will have to return to their hotel rooms at prayer times, since there are no known mosques in the city of Da Lat.

Halal Food

Since the Da Lat Railway Station is a popular tourist spot, there may be a few food vendors located outside the station. There is also sure to be several restaurants in the surrounding areas. Muslims visiting Da Lat will not be able to find any Halal restaurants, which means that they will have to be careful with what they eat, since non-Halal ingredients are widely used.
