Overview

The Museum of Cham Sculpture; founded during the colonial French rule in 1915, is one of the top attractions in Da Nang. It is known to house the world's largest collection of artifacts from the Cham civilization. The Kingdom of Champa ruled over central and southern Vietnam for centuries leaving behind unique Cham motifs and period architecture. Housed in a building which is by itself a fine example of French-colonial and Cham architecture, the Museum of Cham Sculpture features an extensive collection of sculptures and artwork which date back centuries and came from Khuong My, My Son, Dong Duong and other sites. With over 400 pieces to see, spread across ten room, visitors looking to learn more about the Cham people must make it a point to make use of one of the free guides at the museum.

Prayer Facilities

Muslims visiting the Museum of Cham Sculpture will not be able to find prayer facilities at the attraction. Because Da Nang has such a small Muslim population, there are also no known mosques or Islamic Centres in the city. Muslim tourists will therefore have to return to their hotel rooms at prayer times.

Halal Food

Visitors to the Museum of Cham Sculpture will not be able to locate any food outlets at the attraction. While Da Nang has plenty of restaurants and cafés, almost all of them will serve non-Halal food items. There is however one known Halal restaurant in Da Nang. Muslim visitors will be able to find a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes here.
