Overview
A trip to the Hoa Lu Ancient Royal Capital when in Ninh Binh is an absolute must. The capital of Vietnam during the Dinh and Le dynasties, Hoa Lu is only a short distance from Ninh Binh City. With limestone formations surrounding the site and the serenity and tranquility of the area, Hoa Lu makes a great day trip for those visiting Ninh Binh City. Dating back to the 11th century, Hoa Lu is legendary and has witnessed numerous important historical events. The royal city also has a number of historical sites which are now in ruins, but are still popular amongst tourists, such as an iconic archway, ancient temples dedicated to Le and Dinh Kings, monuments, pagodas, tombs and shrines. Apart from these attractions, the breathtaking surroundings of the area also make it incredibly popular.
Prayer Facilities
The ancient capital of Hoa Lu does not offer prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Muslims visiting the area can however offer their prayer outdoors, if able to locate a clean and quiet place. If unable to do so, they will have to return to their accommodation at prayer times, since there are also no known mosques in Ninh Binh.
Halal Food
While there are no known food outlets in Hao Lu, visitors will definitely find restaurants in Ninh Binh city, which is located just a short bike ride away. Muslim tourists will however not be able to find any Halal certified dining establishments here. They will therefore have to dine on vegetarian and seafood dishes at local restaurants, after making sure the dishes do not contain any non-Halal ingredients.
