Overview
Since Vung Tau is a seaside city, it is a must for tourists to spend a day relaxing on one of its beautiful beaches, like Back Beach or Bai Sau; which is the most popular beach in Vung Tau. Located in the southeast side of the city, Back Beach is known for its soft white sand and for the facilities it offers, in comparison to the other beaches in the area. Stretching for about 10 kilometeres, Back Beach features upscale hotels and restaurants, as well as stalls selling and renting out a variety of items, including beach umbrellas. During the summer, the beach is generally packed with Saigonese and foreigners alike. The beach is great for those looking to relax, and is also a good spot for swimming; even though there are strong undertows in some areas.
Prayer Facilities
While finding prayer facilities at Back Beach will be impossible, Muslim visitors may be able to find a secluded spot on the beach to offer their prayers, if visiting during off season. Muslim tourists will also not be able to locate a mosque in the city of Vung Tau, so if unable to locate a clean and quiet place on the beach, they will have to return to their hotel rooms at prayer times.
Halal Food
The city of Vung Tau is not known to have any Halal certified restaurants, although there are a couple that serve some Halal dishes. The city is however renowned for its fresh seafood. While at Back Beach, Muslim tourists can therefore dine on seafood and vegetarian dishes at the local restaurant surrounding the attraction.
